DAY 9
We woke up before the birds this morning. Dark and early at 3am! After meeting in the lobby at 4am, we grabbed our pre-packed breakfasts and got in the vans to head to the airport.
We made it through the airport and flew to Houston for our 8 HOUR LAYOVER?!?! About a third of the layover was waiting in custom and security lines. The rest of the time we spent eating lunch, chilling at a spot near our supposed gate, playing some games, shopping, etc. Our gate ended up being moved to a different terminal and then our flight was delayed by an hour due to a mechanical issue and the weather but we prayed over our flight before we boarded and God answered our prayers, even the small ones (we wanted the seats to have TV screens hehe).
We landed back home in Calgary at 11:20pm! Customs went smooth and so did baggage claim, for the most part. There was a problem receiving Erika and Makayla’s luggage so Chris and Jesse stayed back while the rest of us were met by our parents after going through customs.
P.S Erika and Makayla’s luggage got left in Houston but they have it arriving the next day!
