OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Finding Your Fit at OEFC

PIONEER GIRLS has a long history at OEFC, but it may not run this fall unless someone steps up to be the Coordinator. If you like to lead and organize and have a heart for girls in Grades 1-6, consider becoming involved in this Tuesday night club! Contact the church office or Cassandra H for more information.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES We are so thankful to have our Coordinator positions filled for NURSERY (0-2) Nancy E; PRE-SCHOOL (2-4) Laurie K; and CONNECT (Gr K-6) Sonya H. Contact them for more information about volunteering! Working with children or teens at OEFC requires Plan to Protect training. Specifically, CONNECT is looking for the following (one month on; two months off if there are adequate volunteers):
Grade 5-6 girls Teachers (separate class from large group session below)
Kindergarten to Grade 4
  • 2 adult Leaders (Kindergarten/ Grade 1-2 / Grade 3-4) to teach the lesson and activities, along with Helper, during the small group time
  • 3 youth/adult helpers for the above ages (some will help with large group singing)
  • 1 youth Tech Helper - set up songs and videos for the large group session
  • 2 youth or adult Check-in Helpers to check all of the children into the database

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is in need of a Drop Off Team Leader to assist with ordering boxes, setting up a display table at OEFC, and coordinating volunteers for Collection Week @ OEFC in mid-November. A small time commitment with eternal dividends! Contact the church office for more information. Deadline to volunteer is late September.

OUT & ABOUT
BILLET FAMILY NEEDED The "Okotoks Dawgs" high school baseball team is looking for a Christian home to be a billet family. If interested, please contact Scott S.

OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE
  • Samaritan's Purse Canada is hoping to fill 750 classrooms with children enrolled in The Greatest Journey (after they receive an Operation Christmas Child shoebox). $8 provides one child with a colourful workbook, graduation certificate, and the New Testament in their own language ($240 provides for an entire classroom)! More information online and the campaign end date is August 25, 2025.
  • Samaritan's Purse Canada has been called to assist with an evacuation centre on Vancouver Island due to a raging wildfire near Cameron Lake. Your support to purchase beds, blankets, pillows and hygiene items is critical. Details online.
