Youth Mexico Team Day 7 Update

DAY 7

Hello Church family!
This morning we had the opportunity to serve with a team in Flamboyanes. This is a small, poor town between Progreso and Merida. We  went to a covered outdoor sports court where we played with a parachute, hula hoops, and taught them some street hockey. Following the games we led them in some songs before continuing on with the rest of our program. Once the program finished we walked the kids back to their ministry base where we did a craft with the kids. After the craft we served the kids food and sent them on the their way with their craft, memories, and a gift bag. Following the departure of the kids the staff made us a delicious lunch of tostadas with jamaica juice to drink. After eating we returned to the hotel for a much needed swim/siesta time.

The group recouped and headed to the Cavalry Church where we made bracelets for the evening before heading to Hunucma. Upon arrival the team got right to work in setting up the program items and firing up the BBQ for a big community hot dog dinner. Over 100 hot dogs were eaten and many more pieces of watermelon. After eating the team put out a valiant last workmanship of the program and got to build more crafts with more kids. The night ended with the handing out of balloon animals and gift bags for the kids.

The team feels very blessed for the opportunities from God to serve different communities and see impact on the people within. Today was a very great and very exhausting day for everybody as the long hot days have been catching up with everyone. Regardless we got to see God working through both the big and the little things. Thank you all for your much needed prayer.
