Permanent Markers: Spiritual Life Skills to Write on Your Kids’ Hearts by Janel Breitenstein As mom to a work-in-progress family of six, author Janel Breitenstein knows too well the chaos of life with the lid off. She understands how skeptical you are of shoehorning more into carpool-packed days and just trying to get kids to put socks in the hamper. But as a missionary, she also understands the urgent need to cultivate unerasable habits that prepare kids for a bold relationship with Jesus. If you’re a parent looking for doable, out-of-the-box ways to disciple your children, Permanent Markers is a resource you’ll seek again and again.
OUT & ABOUT
HAND IN HANDS FALL FEAST & SILENT AUCTION Saturday, September 28 at Sirocco Golf Club (6pm). Tickets available. Your support last year helped make the event a huge success! Please consider donating a service or item that can be auctioned. Hand in Hands Foundation is a grassroots not-for-profit organization since 2015. We recognize that the needs of education, health care, and safe housing are not being met for many of the people who live in the Dominican Republic. Hand in Hands collects and distributes funds with the help of local partners to the families most in need.
LIFECHAIN Sunday, October 6 (2-3pm) in front of the Municipal Centre in Okotoks. Life Chain is an annual ecumenical event involving peaceful public witness and prayer. Christians come together at 325 locations across Canada to quietly pray for one hour for an end to abortion. Participants hold non-graphic signs bearing messages like, “Abortion kills children,” “Abortion hurts women,” and “Adoption: A loving option.”
